I apolgize for mis-spelling Dave's name in the video. Corrected video is here....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW8zmr_HWvc

Dave Benjamin owned and built, driven by Tom Padilla Fuel Coupe/Nostalgia Funny Car travelled from the state of Washington to race at the March Meet, Bakersfield, CA. They did a short check out pass in the 1st round of Qualifying and this is the second pass on the car. Not bad for the 1st all out pass on a new car. A rod kicked out and the body made history as the highest any Funny Car body has been launched in the history of Drag Racing.

  • WOW! That body launch beats one I remember seeing on TV, when Mike Dunn was driving for Roland Leung in the Hawaiian Punch funny car!

  • @fanatic4hockey Lol, why are you yelling at the uploader for an insignificant detail that he was not even wrong about? Relax dude, it's just a video. Control your anger.

  • @fanatic4hockey it is the body dipshit the body got blown off the chassis. The driver sits in the chassis. Why dont YOU get your facts straight. It happens every once in a while with Funny Cars

  • that's not the body you retard, the driver never left the chassis.. get your facts straight

  • Why is there a crane parked next to the wall at the finish line (and with people in it no less)?? Come on, people, you're supposed to learn from bad things like Scott Kalitta's accident.

  • I didn't want to believe that 'non-truths' were the norm in the racing circles. Guess this just proves it. Have a nice day.

  • Yes it is, lying runs rampant in racing parts I think.
