September 23, 2009 - U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives this morning on the pressing need for health insurance reform. His statement highlighted a new White House report that details skyrocketing health insurance premiums in New Mexico and across the country the latest evidence that Americas current health insurance system is unsustainable for New Mexico families.
If were successful in health insurance reform, well lower the costs of care for our families, seniors will be able to afford their medications all year long, small businesses will save money, and well end this impediment to our nations competitiveness in the 21st Century global economy, said Rep. Heinrich. We simply cannot afford to let this historic opportunity slip away.
With all due respect, (I am from New Mexico) this bill will force higher premiums (or higher taxes for all), longer lines to see a doctor as 30 million more people flood doctors offices with no reason for themselves to use common sense (for maybe a toothache?) to restrict access for needed care. It will fine or jail those who dont get it, or who choose not to get it. It forever kills freedom to choose in America for a service. Please stop it now! Thanks for allowing comments...
