My cousin wanted a breed specific dog. It came home to cat who is spoiled to death. They bonded as if they were meant to be together. We can't all adopt but we can pray for them and give a little something to help from time to time. You don't know what you are getting from a pet store or breeder but you know you are getting a grateful animal full of love from a shelter.

WOW BARC! I couldn't state it any better! My rescue girl from BARC has and is an absolute joy! There are rescue groups for darn near every breed of dog or cat, not to mention exotics like birds and ferrets. PLEASE everyone, consider rescuing before checking those classifieds or pet stores. Remember that almost all dogs in pet stores come from puppy mills. Puppy milling is an abhorrent business. Consider RESCUE first! It's a wonderful way to bring a companion into your life!
