  • lol this is actually a terrible acoustic design. Killing the room makes an awful deadened sound which produces a lifeless vocal. You want to kill most of the harsh reflections but slight coloration is actually a positive thing

  • @AlexKlingle Hi Alex.

I think you would be correct if all the walls of the booth were acoustically treated from top to bottom, but that would be an attempt at an anechoic chamber - a nightmare for a singer/voiceover artist to work in, and a long way off what I was going for. What you can't see very well is that the foam treatment only covers the back wall, and on all the other walls from waist-down there is none....

  • @AlexKlingle .....It works really nicely as it captures some warmth and resonance often missing from vocal booths. Also this allows you to throw in a duvet when the bass singers are in there, to add to the absorption. With the added irregular ceiling I have to tell you, Alex, it sounds fantastic, and has done for many years!

I hope this doesn't dent your enthusiasm for acoustics. Keep at it - lots to learn! Lol

  • hey im bulding a vocal booth what do i have to put so that sund coming from the outside wnt go into the vocal booth please help

  • type "building a vocal booth" into google. you'll find a good article on booths from SoundOnSound. I use Auralex acoustic treatment

  • This is soo wrong what he is doing .

He should't move during the recording, because the sound will lose that important thing to get the song.

  • Dude were's the rest of the track?? It's great!!!

  • And of course he didn't know someone else was ruining the take... please!
