@knightstrykr he doesnt have to stop until the ref seperates them. Hence protect yourself at all times. But he does like to hold his finishes alot, your right about that...lol

@fmoa I remember watching early UFC fights with some friends. My friends were in awe and thinking that Royce and BJJ were the best thing since ice cream. I was not amazed. As a judoka I knew that stand up fighters were usually toast once they got on the mat. What amazed me were all the stand up fighters trying to go to the mat and win against Royce. Heck Royce suckered them to the ground by falling himself in most cases.

@inkman46 Of course Royce could beat just about anyone here. He has trained sicnne he could walk. I have no doubts of the efectiveness of any of the Gracies. Some student who has trained for 6 months in BJJ makiing similar claims about themselves however.......

Enjoy your cat nap Royce? LOL

@siasti Brawler!?!? Wallid beat Royce, Renzo, Ralph AND Ryan Gracie. All in BJJ tournaments. Wallid is a BJJ black belt under Carlson Gracie, and is an avid defender of BJJ honor.
To those who don't know who Wallid Ismail is, look up his bio in the BJJ heroes site, and you'll see that he's been through more true MMA/No-Holds-Barred fights and wars than Royce ever had throughout their lives.

I dare any one of you guys trash talkin to train with the Gracies and see what BJJ is all about. Wallid beat Royce, so what. Royce will choke out any one of you that posted trash about him. And thats FACT...

@fmoa Dude, please learn proper grammar
-
Royce must believe that a tap out means nothing, because his opponents do it all the time and he just ignores it
-
I think that Royce just had a bad day. Looking at their other fight vids, Royce is the superior fighter. Wallid is just a brawler.

Royce is crazy man. He said he would never tap. That dude is crazy. Much respect for both men.
Wallid put Gracie to SLEEP, Wallid is better!!!.. stop making excuses hahaha

The aim is to put your opponent in a position where he feels he cannot continue. Like a "check mate" in chess. In most cases, if you have a choke or a joint-lock on an opponent, they "tap out" to signify that they admit defeat. In some cases, like this one, people do not want to tap and sometimes they are choked unconcious or have a limb broken. The aim isn't to hurt your opponent in a tournament. In real life, you do what you have to.
