Here is my first working operation of my custom MP3 player! Using a color OLED display from 4D systems (realy cool!!) and the VMUSIC1 module from Vinculum. Running all over USB 2.0 with the uUSB from 4D too.
The video is a little bit crap due to my camera but all of this is managed over MiniCom under Linux. The VMUSIC module reads a 512Mb pendrive and play Dire Straits ;)

P.D: VMUSIC1 documentation is REALY BAD!

  • Interesting! Do you use the SPI or UART for comunication with master CPU? I am fighting with SPI and I am not able to start it work.

  • Actually, SPI mode is imposible management due to lot of firmware bug's. I have do a search over the web for examples, and many people have the same problem. Also VMUSIC1 apear to be out of date for VINCULUM and replaces with VMUSIC2, so no docs, no updates and BAD support at all. By the way, run fine with UART that i actually use for that :)

  • I asked for this because yesterday I had first results with working SPI in VMUSIC2. By the way, VMUSIC1 should be the same like VMUSIC2, is only without plastic box.

  • Great! You actually managed to put your project on a breadboard? I just gave up and went for just PCB. :P
