Afghan inmates compare Policharkhi to Guantanamo - 24 Jan 09

As the United States prepares to shut down Cuba's Guantanamo Bay detention centre, attention is shifting to prisons that will remain open.

In Afghanistan more than 3,000 men are being held at the Policharkhi prison outside Kabul.

The prisoners say conditions are wretched and they're not being given access to fair trials.

From the outskirts of the Afghan capital, Teresa Bo reports.

I dont support what the Taliban did, but what do you know about the Afghanistan, their culture, their struggle, their pain and 33 years of war that has killed over 1.5 million Afghans and displaced millions more.
