George O'Neill toured the Barry's Bay, Ontario area on snowmobile on February 12 and 13th, 2011. Former Queen's University classmates and friends Brian, Bob and Andy also came along - Brian was kind enough to let George borrow one of Brian's new BRP sleds, and Andy allowed us all to stay at his cottage.
Barry's Bay is famous not only for being in the middle of "Snow Country" and offering fantastic snowmobile trails, but also for perhaps the areas' most famous resident, Janusz Zurakowski. Mr. Zurakowski was test pilot for the CF-105 Avro Arrow and in his tribute there is a park in the middle of the town named after him with displays outlining his life and accomplishments.
Barry's Bay is a fantastic location to base your exploration via snowmobiles of this beautiful area.
