Syrian officials lashed out at Washington on Monday for a "sheer violation of international law," saying the U.S. attack killed eight people and wounded one.

Syria's state news agency SANA said four U.S. helicopters crossed the border and struck a farm about 5 miles inside Syria before returning to Iraqi airspace. The raid occurred about 4:45 p.m. local time on Sunday, the agency said.

It said the helicopters hit a civilian building under construction on the farm, killing a father and his four children, and a married couple and another man.

  • Why now? That's a pretty good question left unanswered. Dept of Defense said no comment now or in the future. ???

These Neocons gotta go. Crossing a national border! They could have watched them the whole time & hit when they cross over.

  • Neocons GOT to go. I was calling Ohio for Obama today, and Ohio is still for Barack, but they are getting alot of McCain propaganda, and need more calls from Obama people to get out the vote.

Now w Syria, its a very funny contrast to how the US troops apparently left ObL's group alone, when they were in hot pursuit, when ObL crossed into Pakistan several years ago.

How dare Bush perpetrate an act of war against Syria without an absolutely critical reason.

  • It is time to nuke Iran, Syria and the frontier tribal areas in Pakistan! Kil all the evil Muslim terrorist bastards with cleansing nuclear fire!

  • ...it just seems to me that it's inevitable that most if not all of our past and present efforts are going to go down the tube no matter what in the long run. I'm sorry to sound negative, but I feel pessimistic about it all.

  • I currently don't trust Iran's govt. either. I wish they'd vote MA out during the elections, for one. Southwest Asia and Middle East is an extremely very sticky situation, and the faster our troops are out of there, the better as soon as Iraq is fully back on Her feet. I do also support our troops too, but I see no end to this conflict in sight I'm afraid. Plus, I've read just today, that some al-Qaeda cells are opening up in Somalia. With that along with the pirate trouble lately...

  • "I didn't mean to sound harsh I apologize for that". No problem, I understand.

As far as the thing with the passports not being required, you've got a point. Syrian govt. is responsible then. Looking back on it, I did read about N. Korea giving Syria a reactor and/or like you mentioned, and if that's the case, the Syrian govt. isn't really on our side anyway by looking the other way with the case of al-Qaeda and blaming us instead. Same with Pakistan...

  • ...cells in their country than they need to handle it themselves. The loss of civilian life is sad it really is but it has been proven that the father of that family was in al-queda, it's a shame the kids had to die due to the fathers stupidity. Also on Syria they had a nuclear reactor that was bombed by Israel a few years back. North Korea gave Syria the nuclear technology. I think Syria is a threat not as bad as Iran but still they are a threat to our security so I back our forces on this

  • First off I didn't mean to sound harsh I apologize for that. I do agree to an extent that we can't police the world, but the middle east is a grave threat to our security countries such as, Afghanistan, pakistan,Iraq,Syria, and Iran. Syria does not require middle eastern people to have passports which therefore terrorist use Syria's airport in madascus to get into Iraq(and they go directly through Irans border)to harm our troops. my argument is if Syria doesn't want the U.S. attacking terrorist

  • ...but please don't say I'm a disgrace to this country. It's not written in our Constitution to go after terrorists/criminals in other countries, unless they physically attack our country. They don't appreciate our presence over there, just as we wouldn't want certain wahabists clowns over here. It only further emboldens their 'cause'. Sooner were out of there the better. We should also reconsider our relationship with Saudi Arabia and the oil.

  • ...that said, I don't condone Hezbollah and Hamas at all. We in Missouri are very conservative, including myself, but we're not very impressionable either. We cannot continue to police the world anymore, even if we wanted too. It's cost us/our troops/innocents of other countries their lives, it's cost us astronomical amounts of money to conduct these operations; it's cost us our international reputation and respect with many countries around the world. The economy is shot...

  • No, I didn't to fund Hezbollah. I meant an apology for killing any innocents by accident, and meant it would seemed morally the right thing to do to help innocents than comared to highly rich firms such AIG. In short, to be able in a way show apologies for, and I emphasize, accidental killing of innocents, IF they were indeed innocents. These are/were merely my opinions and just my opinions on this IF the allegations are true. I value your opinions too, even if I might disagree with them...

  • Are you fucking kidding me??? Your a disgrace to this country.. You want to give money and apologize to a country who openly supports Hezbollah and openly supports Irans ambition to have a nuclear bomb. Syria is led by a rogue dictator named Assad. If these countries don't want the U.S. to take out the terrorist in their country, then they need to start doing it themselves. You are a disgrace to this country and the great state of Missouri.Go live in syria or Iran and then tell me how life is
