In the early seventies, Andy Williams scored a hit with a song written by the "golden trio" of British songwriters, Roger Cook, Roger Greenaway and Tony Macauley. "Home Lovin' Man" seemed to have been written 'especially' for Andy's warm and soft voice and most people will probably know this version best. But other great performers, like eg Dame Shirley Bassey, also recorded fine versions of the song and consequently one could encounter the song in several TV shows which were aired during that period.
Here, John Schroeder, another well known "icon" of British popular music performs Lew Warburton's arrangement of the song together with the City of Westminster String Band. Yes.......even the Orchestra's name sounds "quite British" ;-) Warburton's arrangement is rather straightforward but it's the sensual and intense melody that captures the listener's attention..
From the 1971 album "Home Lovin' Hits" here are The City of Westminster String Band playing Andy Williams' "Home Lovin' Man". Enjoy.
