The Piano - The Heart Asks Pleasure First (Michael Nyman)

Those who watched this movie before would surely be fascinated by the character Ada and her piano. I am no exception. After watching the movie, I was glad that I played the piano too, and still am :-)

Ok, my playing is not perfect, but you better not complain because I spent all weekend re-learning this piece and making the video! LOL

I was happy to find this video. You play fantastic! I think I'll adopt this 1:45 version to learn rather than the 3+ of most of them. My head is ready to explode just trying to get through the first page. Thanks for the vid. You're great!

What a boring theme, just some chords and a mish mash of notes. Where are the key points?

The playing was good though, but play something that actually have a melody.

Perhaps it is you that needs to learn how to listen to music. If you listen carefully, the melody is in the top notes. The rest are accompaniments.

Feel free to dislike what I play or what Michael Nyman composed. But this is my site, so I get choose what to play and what videos to post.

Nice, very nice. You can sit by me. I bought the music sheet for my sister just so I can hear these beautiful notes echo through the house halls. I don't play the piano, but I do play the clarinet and oboe and oddly enough, recently the harmonica as well. I liked your playing. You should have finished the song.

I'd love to know what the YellowMagi actually listens to, that he thinks he can call one of the most wickedly beautiful piano tracks ever made, boring and without melody. Perhaps he knows some artists that are not of this planet. You actually have a feel for playing the song that is discouraging to me because I am almost done learning to play it, but it seems like there is a lot more touch involved than I am capable of producing having just learned to play the piano over the last year. Great!!!
