  • GRANDI!!!

  • @SUNKORAMA I think one thing they should do for the next album except exploring the better way to make dance music is get some nice mixers and ambitious producers to help them solve the arrangement problem. Some old bands do that to get some fresh look.

  • That is exactly the point I am trying to get across, only I guess I am getting more into the technical aspects. I don't think any of the songs after the brilliant 1996 album even come close to any of the previous compositions and the few songs that stand out suffer from technical problems with production, arrangements, mixing, mastering, etc, resulting in a tedious listening experience.

Thanks for confirming my perception of reality.

  • @SUNKORAMA You're not stupid, and you're telling the truth. The Light album is quite bad and loses Vince's beautiful arrangement in songs. It's like releasing a 90s dance album in 00s. I love Andy and Vince, but I lose interests in the albums after Cowboy. Self-title album is masterpiece, so Cowboy is really disappointing (I love In My Arms, though). They still got nice songs, such as Moon and the Sky (they should have put this as first single from Loveboat), Breathe, and this Sunday Girl.

  • My complaint was not about the particular tracks you mention. There is nothing wrong with those. I'm talking about the material released after the 1996 album. Take "Don't Say Your Love Is Killing Me" for example. The sound is boosted beyond belief. It does not sound natural and therefore becomes painful to listen to. Whoever mastered these releases may be mostly to blame, but that is less relevant. I'm simply explaining one of the main reasons why I have lost interest in this band.

  • No, you're right, very insightful, as a fan I would have to agree, but I like the ear-bleeding stuff anyway. Breath of life, Fingers & thumbs, Blue Savannah, etc are all Excellent ear bleeding material: WHAT!!?

  • I'm stupid.

  • is it a joke , or ur so stupid?

  • I always liked Erasure, especially the 1994 album. But I'm just so sick of every electronic band sounding like Aqua or Scooter or just generally 90' dance oriented nowadays. I would have bought their latest album had they done it more listenable by not boosting bass, treble and everything else that can be boosted until your ears bleed after listening for more than 2 minutes, or just turn off the rhythm-section altogether. The songs are nice, but whatever happened to the less is more principle?

  • self-titled album, in my mind their best work, is definitely beyond their typical pure pop.
