Fiddle tune by Jay Unger that was featured in the Ken Burns documentary about the American Civil War. I found this arrangement for guitar on the internet credited to Denny Straussfogel. Nice work, Denny.

  • About a year ago I became enamored by this song after watching Ken Burn's Civil War. After coming to Youtube I found your version and become more obsessed. Your playing really inspired me and I picked up a guitar. A year ago I was able to scratch out the basic tune of this song, but I can proudly say I have learned the entire fingerstyle tab of this song and it is the best feeling in the world. You have inspired a life long hobby for me and I can't thank you enough.

  • @fightinirish258 Thanks for commenting. I hope your inspiration lasts a life time. Mine tends to eb and flow.

  • Someone said he can listen to your music all a day.

That's what I did today. You're amazing. Thank you for your "peaceful guitar".

  • @lareponse42 Thank you. If I'd known someone was going to pay this much attention, I would have taken more guitar lessons.

  • I had to say - I've been mesmerized - captivated - haunted by this tune and over the past week have listened to almost every version on almost every instrument and of all the guitar versions - your is by far the very best. Clean - direct - sensitive haunting - powerful. It must feel so good to be able to make such beautiful music. Congratulations on having this wonderful talent.

  • sir, you are very, very good, i could listen to this all day

  • @22shr The capo is invisible, but it's on the 2nd fret. Optional, of course.

  • @22shr forget what i said... its accurate.... im an idiot :)
