Mark Griffin aka MC 900 Ft Jesus plus turntables by DJ Zero. Off the brilliant, creepy, funny album "Hell With the Lid Off" from 1989.

  • where is mc 900? in an airplane?land and come back man we miss you. your funk is strong.

  • Bad rapper my hind leg. This isn't "rap" for a start, nor in fact is Mark Griffin a hip-hop artist. He was, and is a jazz musician. And what did he give us? One of the greatest albums of the late 80s consisting of gospel, hip-hop, acid house, jazz and just plain of fashioned out-there weirdness. They don't make albums like this any more.

All rap gave us is a bad headache.

  • This was so left field, it's so right. Look at all the content of the video and topics..all VERY talked about in the current stream RIGHT now on youtube. Amazingly perfect. oh and @ 0:21 the zodiac is from the cover of the AMAZING book "the round art" by A.T. Mann.

  • notice that rocket ship hitting the tower o.O

truth is still outta style, but Mark will never be

  • @ShortyDammit Your wish might be granted. Keep fingers crossed. ;)

  • @snapdancer2 Check out the wikipedia page on him. He was playing/DJing at some bar in Dallas from sometime in 2007 up until the end of 2009 according to their calendar. Sure wish he'd give us some more albums! Genius.

  • @davekeays Surrealism, not Dada. Dalí was a Surrealist.

  • @jasonmit Neither was DADA, but I still see double images in the work of one of its founders, Salvador Dali.

  • @snapdancer2 I heard a rumor a little while back that he's possibly working on a new album.

  • @oli0880 I'm a HUGE fan of MC 900, yet I can fully understand how he's not for everyone. If you listen to a lot of his other stuff, especially from "Welcome to My Dream" on, his lyrics read almost like he spent a lot of time reading from abnormal psychology textbooks. Everything from pyromania, schizophrenia, psychosis (fairly common subject), antisocial personality disorder, among other disorders. His lyrics aren't intended to be taken seriously in any way and I love that.

  • @hustler3of4culture3 fair enough, youve took quite a lot of meaning from these almost guidline/catchphrase like lyrics! and this is a tricky topic, probably the trickiest of all, as its very hard to know where genuine truth lies.. i think the best way to get 'there', is to follow beauty, as in your 'heart, by that i mean all forms of expressing love and care, or any kind of thinking that takes you far from the ego. and of course with a good slice of logic and imagination, youll get to the truth.

  • @oli0880

sorry about calling you a perpetrator.

i think he is actually fighting the fact that we create our own reality, he is saying there is one objective reality and that there are many who would have us believe that reality is in the eye of the beholder, hence the "aint no half steppin" sample at the end.
