  • To be conjoined, twins have to be identical. Lori and Dori look somewhat different because, as a result of their being conjoined, each of their skulls formed slightly differently as they grew. Had they not been conjoined, they'd look identical. Plus, Dori's spina bifida stunted her growth, but they are still identical twins in the medical sense of being one fertilized egg that divided as opposed to fraternal twins which result from two separate eggs fertilized by two sperm.
