On November 27th, 1830 St. Catherine Laboure experienced a vision of the Blessed Virgin standing on a globe, crushing a serpent with her feet, and emanating rays of light from her hands.
On the same day 181 years later I watched an episode of Mad Men and heard this song at the end of the show. It was the first time I'd ever heard it and I felt a desperate need to learn and record the song the very same night, so I did. Here's my take on Peter, Paul and Mary's 'Early in the Morning' in all its raw glory. May it carry you safely through these last thirty-four days of 2011.
