Part two:
To change the cube to a sphere or cylinder click the 'Deformation tab and the option is at the top, make a selection and it's done.

I make a new folder in /home/username/picture and name it skydomes and cube caps and put them in there.
Open CCSM and click on Desktop Cube> Appearance> Skydome,
Under skydome image you need tonavigate to the pic you want to use, tick these boxes adjust image / skydome / animated skydome. that bit is done.
To change cube caps go to Cube Reflaction and Deformation and enable it, go into those settings and you can change the cube caps by adding a new image and moving it up the list to the top.
