A few years back I had two colossal rats thawed out sitting on newspapers on my bed ready to feed my Argentine Boas and one of my adult Ball Pythons was curled up in the sun on my bed resting. I walked into the kitchen to wash my hands and heard papers rattling and came running in just in time to see my Ball Python eating one of the colossal rats. I was freaking out because compared to the snakes head size the rat was huge but I tried to take it away from the snake but wasn't going to happen, so supervised I let the snake eat it. It went fine so from that date on they refused to eat jumbo rats and have always had colossal's. Now, they just look like they swallowed a stuffed tube sock for a few days after a meal LOL

  • @fatieahjones Since I was 14 :O) I have a hundred videos up please feel free to check them out !!

  • Nice big snake I hope my snake get that huge. How long have you been caring for snakes.

  • @fatieahjones Thank you she and my male are both 10 years old and five feet long. I've been raising snakes for fifty years :O) Mine spend more time outdoors in the spring and summer than they do indoors and get tons of exercise so think that has everything to do with their size.

  • @snewchybewchy I always offer a bigger feeder every few months just to see if they are more interested in something larger and this has been a big problem with some pythons that refuse to eat because often they are looking for a bigger meal especially before brumate season. The importance of offering larger feeders from time to time and getting a snake to graduate in the feeder size is basically because larger feeders have denser and a much higher calcium content in their bones that's essential

  • @1softkiss oh right well i wouldny want that to happen to my python. she has just started on large mice im goin up one size each time i cant see the lump when she has swallowed it. my ball python is 2.4ft long and is 4 months old would you say that under length ? when she eats the bag of 10 large mice she will probably have grown alot more.

  • @snewchybewchy constipated. it can kill a snake

  • @1softkiss bound up ?

  • @snewchybewchy No there's no need to. I don't feed my snakes rabbits because I've raised colossal rats and some jumbos that have been as big as a rabbit. I don't believe in power feeding snakes but I would rather give smaller multiple feedings to discourage the chance of the snake getting bound up.

  • you ever fed her a small rabbit ? she could probably be able to take one
