One modern family takes on the challenge of domestic life on Britain's home front in this gritty re-creation of a World War II household, 1940s HOUSE. This time-travel experiment covers the period from the outbreak of the war in 1939 to Victory Day in 1945, compressing six wartime years into nine weeks. The military threat is metaphorical, but the privations are real and the pressure creates surprising tensions nonexistent in modern society.

  • The Husband/Father was absolutely useless!! That would be my Dad saying doing dishes is womans work,, and carving a Spitfire plane from wood instead of helping with cleaning after bomb. Ugh!! If it was sooo,, My Mumma and I would chuck him out into the Anderson and let him live out there. Lol

  • @kririr777 I agree, it was painful to watch the 1900's house. Also the Frontier House is hard to watch.

  • Wow, what an awesome family compared to the useless, whiney and vulgar 1900's house family that were such a pain to watch. This was an absolute pleasure!
