Holo-Interface aus dem Film "Minority Report". Das MIT macht´s möglich.

Original:
From the MIT Channel:

This is a graphical interface inspired by the movie "Minority Report". It
uses the Kinect sensor from Microsoft, and the recently released
libfreenect driver for interfacing with the Kinect in linux. The
graphical interface and the hand detection software were written at MIT
to interface with the open source robotics package 'ROS', developed by
Willow Garage (willowgarage.com). The hand detection software showcases the abilities of
the Point Cloud Library (PCL), a part of ROS that MIT has been helping to
optimize. The hand detection software is able to distinguish hands and
fingers in a cloud of more than 60,000 points at 30 frames per second,
allowing natural, real time interaction.

  • @JDster4ever this is still in experimental stages, i think you'l be able to have this running on your pc in 1 or 2 year

  • Awesome finger gesture recognition, but the UI is still rear-projected, not holo UI.

  • please please PLEASE do a tutorial, we would kill for this to be made easy for simple computer user like me, PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL!

  • @EricTheRed03 either its already available on microsofts website or they are coming out with it pretty soon. microsoft did say that they would be out with a driver that would connect the kinect to your pc just dont remember when :)

  • @EricTheRed03 Because that would be pointless, it has a usb and plugs into the computer just fine, they're working on tools for the kinect that will be out soon, but people are already making drivers and tools for kinect.

  • @EricTheRed03 I think that Microsoft is watching what people can come up with on their own.

  • fucking awesome

  • Why is Microsoft not releasing this hardware for PC too. As you've shown, it has many uses.

  • thats fuckin awesome nice job...if ur the creator
