Final rehearsal for the band before the "7 Turns" tour in 1990. Warren Haynes does a masterful job on the slide with Dickie Betts providing the heart and soul of this classic Gregg Allman cut. If you saw this band at Fillmore East with Duane Allman, it was and still is a seminal moment in the history of live concerts.

I honestly like warren's slide better than Duane's. I know that is sacriligous to some. I have been playing guit. for years, and am a huge ABB fan, but Warren's slide work is warmer and more soulful. Duane was great, but his tone could be a little nuts, like Hendrix going all nuts...Warren seems more refined.

@scotchiedude Good point. Warren had many more years to hone his soulful technique than a young Duane did. Too bad substance abuse wrecked his life/career. No telling what the man could have accomplished.

The editing sucks on this....this camera is on anything but what it's supposed to be on!

Reason why is that these scenes are all outtakes. Never meant to be shot as a complete sequence. This was known when it was taped. The snippets were used for something else. I saved the outtakes and this is what you see. Now you know the rest of the story.

Naw........was on one of the music channels in the 90's. Dickie and Warren really cook up some blues gumbo on this cut......miss that 'ole longhair Richard Betts. Where are you Dickie?
