  • Joseph Cotton (later made fame in Niagara Falls) and Olivia DeHavaland who played in Radio drama Suspense! are fantastic together. How many pictures have they played together in...

  • Joan Crawford at 8:40.

  • Wesley Addy played the sheriff. In real life he was the husband of Celeste Holm, Bette's co-star in ALL ABOUT EVE.

  • @fusock If a state is building a highway or a bridge, they have the right to tear down your house if they need the land to build it on. They will pay you "fair market value" for your property. That is the law in all the different states.

  • I remember going to see this movie when it first came out. I was prompted to see it as a result of its earning 7 Academy Award nominations. Couldn't believe that Agnes Moorehead lost out in the Best Supporting Actress category. I thought that she was a shoe-in for the award. She did win the Golden Globe Award, however, that year.

  • Joan Crawford starred a film in which its content was similar to which they are just arguing now in this scene.. to build a road (or a bridge) somewhere where a property is on the way of it. The film was called Johnny Guitar.. Mere coincidence?

  • @fusock

It makes no sense unless it falls under 'eminent domain.' There is a rash of it going on these days.

  • If it was her house, the sheriff had no legal right to allow them to tear it down. She paid for it, it was her house and her land. Makes no sense at all.

  • one of the best movies ever agnes, olivia davis what a combination
