@fusock If a state is building a highway or a bridge, they have the right to tear down your house if they need the land to build it on. They will pay you "fair market value" for your property. That is the law in all the different states.

I remember going to see this movie when it first came out. I was prompted to see it as a result of its earning 7 Academy Award nominations. Couldn't believe that Agnes Moorehead lost out in the Best Supporting Actress category. I thought that she was a shoe-in for the award. She did win the Golden Globe Award, however, that year.
