Josie Lawrence, funny and awesome! Well played.

what was the opening curtain for this show? all of the reviews i have read rave about the beautiful opening curtain and towering elephants that are set.
-
does anyone know where I can find pictures of the set design for this production? Also what was the pre-show curtain. Every review I have read states that the opening curtain with the elephants on the proscenium is breathtaking and I just wanted to know what it looked like.

I was just wondering was the script changed much for this The King and I at the Palladium or was it the exact same as the original 1951 Broadway production of The King and I? Also, what was it like starring opposite Josie? What was the set like for the opening scene of the show? Also, were there other people/travellers on the Chow phya ship in this production in the opening scene (it sounds/looks that way from the brochure and CD booklet). Very sorry about all the Questions!! Thanks so much.

the script was cut down a bit. josie lawrence is the nicest person in the world, and was ther definitive mrs anna, incredible actress, and soooo funny!! We didn't have the opening scene set on board the ship, it was on the dock-side. With loads of ensemble members trying to sell stuff to the two foreigners. the set was like a long wooden ramp across the stage, and a a sort of wooden scaffolding with rags, bird cages, and other things they would sell...

I have another few questions for you if you don't mmind: Was the Reprise of the song A PUZZLEMENT for Louis and the Prince cut? Also was the song WESTERN PEOPLE FUNNY cut? Is it true that the show started with Buddhist monks in the boxes of the theatre? Thank you very much.
