"last year the australia federal government gave $8 billion to private schools"... let's just be clear and say the LABOR party did this. why did you fail to state that it was the labor party? i really don't understand your motives manictimes. you're a bunch of cockheads.
the whole point of a defending acentralised staffing system was to ensure the state maintains a public education system, something that is more important than individual careers
The NSWTF is a Dinosaur Union. It's trying to preserve the status quo. Making us victims of the system by having us as pawns, our destiny being determined by the faceless DET bureaucracy. Our current union leaders are fighting a system where teachers can apply for jobs they want, taking control of their own destiny. The NSWTF would prefer to be the knight in shining armor rescuing victims from the unwieldy system.Maybe we should start a new union for young teachers. Comrades this one is not for us
May the 22nd you will take us out on strike to fight for an indefensible unwieldy transfer system which if it were be introduced today it would create outrage.
Would you prefer your members to to be pushed around by an anonymous system in which they have very little input into their destiny. or would you prefer a system in which teachers can apply for jobs they really want.
Ie. Victims of the system or seekers of their own destiny.
The old joke about communist countries was that their people "voted with their feet" by defecting to the west. The same holds true with respect to US public schools (K-12). Public shools are now the most heavily unionized element of the american economy, and it shows in the declining performance of the schools. We rank about #5 in per capita spending, but rank about #25-35 on math/writing skills. The elites are abandoning the public schools in droves; the poor would too. If they could afford it.
I luv it. The Private school fees will now be tax deductible. Gord. Will that darn orchestra be quite. Another truck on the bloody lawn. Doing it tough. Crikey.
I don't think the so called NSW (New) Teachers Institute itself doesn't even know why it's there.
Is it to drown us in another lexically dense magazine that we don't want? Or is it to have yet another research paper on Indigenous education? (Anyone can tell you that you could start by dealing with institutional racism and the lack of black books in the library).
Yes I understand that the NSWTF did not directly set the PDQ (Pointless Dysfunctional Quango) up, but they assisted in setting it up as a strategic policy to attack the independent school teacher sector. However the Federation was incompetent in negotiating with the government and it backfired on new teachers, but that didn't matter, because we weren't members yet.... Well. Now we are!
At the time of setting up why did the union, not fight to have a place on the Board for a teaching student?

Really? They're going to use Sydney Grammar as their school for this. There isn't a front lawn and it's non denominational. Pick on Riverview instead
