This is video of our youngest son Lachlan at the Southern Illawarra Schools Music Festival, who was taught the song "When Father papered the Parlour" by his late Grandfather Alan Carmichael. Lachlan actually recorded this song for his Grandfathers funeral back in 2007, the song meant a lot to him.
Lachlan was upset at school the day his choir teacher told the students they were going to learn this new song. Lach was very upset as the song reminded him of found memories with his Grandfather.
His teacher asked him to play the Part of the Father!
It was a very special moment to see last Wednesday night 26th August 09 to watch Lachy act the role of the Father.
He did such a great job, Grandfather would have been so proud of his Grandson on his big night.
So many memories just came flooding back! I used to sing this in choir in primary school.
