very rare live version of "Doctor Please". The Vocals are buried in the mix very low, probably cuz they played so loud their amps drowned out the vocal PA.

  • Thanks Rey!

  • @yesterway - leigh probably meant SoHo in nyc, as i dont think leigh ever played outside the US with blue cheer. I understand Randy was the guitarist for the london '68 dates and that leigh was fired before that.

  • I heard a great story a few days ago about Blue Cheer playing nude on Muir beach to the totally nude audience! I TOTALLY loved that story!

  • @akashalovelight - actually i think i read that it was Big Brother that played nude on muir beach. i dont think blue cheer would have gone nude for some reason. I have heard that several late 60s groups played nude, i think for instance Soft Machine and Arthur Brown among others.

  • WOW!WOW!WOW! That was the light show I never remembered! But that brought it all back vividly. The Family Dog Denver Colorado .1967-68. 18 years old .63 now.thanks YouTube &Iphone.into Bill Monroe now & b4 then . Blue Cheer stood my test of time.God bless Blue Cheer & Bill Monroe!

  • @progjazzfusion I think that might have a lot to do with it, but , also , just the lineup change. Randy sure played heavy , but , in a different way. Even w/ Bruce and Ralph , they could've been "Heavy" (1st single together was.) , but , the Power Trio had something special. Country Rock - Burritos , Nesmith , even Rick Nelson - was coming in. The change did get Dickie un - banned from The Fillmore. He went Hard Rock again as early as 73 -4. The other LPs are now popular w/some.

  • @yesterway He might have meant the Soho sections of either New York ( Half the 2nd album was recorded in New York.) , or even London ( The band was touring like crazy , playing , I think , twice in England before Randy came in and fulfilled other European dates.). Leigh relocated to London to do his "Red Weather" and form "Silver Metre", as it happens....One of those pics , at least , could've been from NYC or London (?).

  • @yesterway a part of London, famous for its shabbynes at the time

  • toa the brother and ladies Peace and a new would to us all for we are one!

  • @yesterway i'm 48 now an i love hearing stories about the music that i first heard as a little kid in the late 60s an early 70s what a great time to hear music for the first time in my life.....i'm very lucky,i did'nt get it at the time, so as a teen in the late 70s, i had to do some back tracking, an studying, i remember one time i saw blue cheer, summer time blues, an i saw canned heat, lets work together on mtv's closet clasic's, an said WOW i remember this music i was there RIGHT ON...PEACE

  • I wrote an email to Leigh Stephens and ask him where the photo was taken on the inside covers of OUTSIDEINSIDE. He responded by saying "Soho". Anybody have any idea where that is? Thanks.
