Mark Waldman co-author of the groundbreaking book,"How God Changes Your Brain",reports that "what we found from the brain scan studies we have done, is a consistency of patterns that you can see on every brain scan, that if you engage in a practice such as The Release Technique, you can begin to make permanent changes in both the structure and the function of your brain in ways that enhance memory, cognition, consciousness, awareness, compassion and it simultaneously suppresses the neural mechanisms in your brain that cause anxiety, depression, fear, anger and rage."

  • We do not yet know what the neurological effects of the Release Technique are. We should know in a few weeks, and I'm hoping to see SIMILARITIES in brain functioning between the Release Technique and other forms of meditation and contemplative practices. Based on 20 years of prior research, we're pretty certain that there is no single relaxation strategy that has been proven to be better than others. Yours, Mark Waldman, Assoc. Fellow, Center for Spirituality and the Mind, UPenn.
