A stout vessel, with an able bodied Skipper,Vineyard Sound very unpredictable. You need to have your hand on the helm to understand it.Many Mariners have found God (in those Swells from Hell), in that stretch of water.

Thanks Skipper90210, We usually run our boat between 4000 and 4500 RPM. This will run Scotia Mist between 13 - 17 knots. Fuel burn will vary between 4 to 7 GPH depending on RPM and sea conditions etc. These number are with the boat fully loaded (dingy/kicker,40 gallons water,100+ gallons of fuel,AC,food, ice, kitchen sink, microwave, you get the idea).

what size engine do you guys have on your boat?

Exionne,
Scotia Mist is powered by a single 150 four stroke Yamaha. The Rosborough RF 246 can be powered in many different configurations. Single 60,90,115,150,225,250 or twin 40's,50's,60's,70's,90's,115's,150's. It all depends on what you are planning to do with the boat. The Canadian CG has 50+ RF246 in service with some having twin 150's on the RF 246 that are used for patrols. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Wind blew over 30 MPH the day this video was taken. In the video we are protected from the prevailing SW wind. Once in the Vineyard Sound we had a rough trip home.
