Out of N. San Jose I have a Axiom DRX9000 Chiropractic Decompression Machine up for grabs.
This machine is very clean and is in excellent shape. It was inspected by and calibrated by an Axiom technician just 2 weeks ago. His report was nothing short of an A+.
I have misc. harnesses of different sizes that come with this package.
Serial #: DRX9000-306-1628
The DRX9000 True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System™ provides a primary treatment modality for the management of pain and disability for patients suffering with incapacitating low back pain and sciatica. The DRX9000 True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System™ is designed to provide pain relief for compressive and degenerative injuries of the spine. Through the application of spinal decompressive forces to these injuries, the DRX9000™ has given patients relief from back pain and has allowed them to resume the activities they love.

@jneil78 the claims about reactive spasmming withpassive traction is also hogwash as is using a selector to automatically isolate a specific lumbar segment as though one's body composition (fat vs. thin) won't have an effect on the angle of pull. DRX is just an expensive traction devices & a draw back is that it forces one to lay supine. Most of my pt's respond better when they can lay prone although I have an option of supine or prone w/the Kennedy Table.

Many conditions will self resolve. If u look at a pt treated & one not treated, over time both might end up same way a yr later or so. However, when someone is in pain at time & a treatment reduces pain & it lasts, then it's still worthwhile receivg. Part of problem as 2 why 1 could end up like anyone else down the road is because people r not perfectly programmed robots, they screw up w/their body mechanics, posture, etc. No matter the treatment if someone bends the wrong way, it can relapse

@ospreylookout also, DRX claims are not substantiated. A good ole traction machine you can set in accord with the patient's response is just as good but they won't admit that. I have had many patients walk out of my office without pain after receiving tract/decompression which lasts, but this is all we have to go on to determine it's value; if pain leaves someone's leg by whatever means I'm happy.

@ospreylookout I agree science is not evidentiary; however, If it reduces pain during application & the pain stays away afterward, that is sufficient to me to find it worthwhile using. However, I do feel it can also be used in combination with the ATM2. You will find most treatments avail for most things lack in science. ATM2 is pretty new & needs time for research, however, I have a pt who after 40 yrs of chronic pain found ATM2 2 be only thing that has ever helped her for any length of time.

@ospreylookout u r talking about spontaneous remission which is true, it can also self resolve over time and it can be cyclic. U need a comparable sign to tell if something will have a chance of helping like centralization of symptoms at time of application. DRX is traction, but they can't sell it to providers for all that $ if they call it what it is & providers can't charge cash if they call it what it is. There is no such thing as traction induced spasming/guarding; it's easy to relax pt's

VAX D IS OPPOSITE OF TRACTION

@truehdstudios Funny thing about low back pain....much of the time, the pain remits spontaneously after about a month.....and loe and behold, we are told it was the therapy...but in fact, it was your own body. Don't be fooled by the snake oil salesmen trying to make money off your pain. Your body can heal itself most of the time, and when it cannot, try not to get ripped off by these clowns.

@jneil78 With respect, traction has itself not been shown to be any more effective than no treatment at all. See Clarke JA et al (2007). Traction for low-back pain with or without sciatica. Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2007 Apr 18;(2):CD003010. Review. PMID: 17443521
The authors concluded, "Neither continuous nor intermittent traction by itself is more effective in improving pain, disability or work absence than placebo, sham or other treatments for patients ..."

@ospreylookout It's not hogwash...want to know why? Because it's only traction after all which has been proven to be efficacious. Their (chiros) marketing is what is hogwash with all the silly lights and such. What is this, a carnival ride?
