Lake Michigan Pier Fishing

Opie and PT hit the Lake Michigan pier with master angler friend Sam to slam some Coho Salmon and Whitefish for the afternoon. The pier was loaded with many other anxious anglers and the fish were slamming the skane very hard. We thought the limit was 3 per man and then when we got back to the truck we found out from another fisherman that you could keep 5 fish now... Oh well, we had a blast and we are going to have some amazing eats here in the next weeks along with some delicious smoked fish!

i find the close quarter fishing in the river run much more fun...platte river stright out of lake mihcigna you should try it

Use to fish off the other pier in the 60s for jumbo perch. Used cane poles, about 10 at a time using chubs for bait. Started casting for the salmon about 1967 or so. Caught what were probably jacks, 2 lbs or so, they were good eating. My dad lost a Herters casting rod there, accidentally hooked it when casting, slid into the water, pissed off. So if anybody finds it, let me know, lol.

those are tiny fish when i fished them we caught two 10 pounders and one 8 pounder
