HDTVNEWS REVIEW: TRAVEL BROADENS THE MIND. That could be the message we may expect from this new and modern Road movie of our time -with a style of its own... It's definitely a very accurate film close to the life of the modern generations and contemporary youth, to the the life of the recent common wealth traveling generation (mostly of the 90s and since till the credit crunch/depression) and following their quest to an identity of their own, while discovering the world.
Im not sure how to translate the famous quote from unforgettable writer and philosopher, VOLTAIRE : 'Les voyages forment la jeunesse' ( travel improves the mind / travel broadens the mind ), but for sure the quote remain true forever, that is travelling is to be encouraged because travel definitely broadens the mind. that is also to say not travelling is like having a 'shrunked' mind... that is a very narrow minded spirit. No need to say that evidence is found in the difference between lives of locals who have never travelled and lives and high lifted spirit of people who have travelled a lot but not only travelled but also experimented living among locals and different cultures though keeping their own identity and culture as being a way just to improve it...
It's a Film from the director of The Mighty Boosh, Paul King, and starring Edward Hogg, Simon Farnaby and Veronica Echegui, Bunny is a offbeat and heartfelt road movie entirely set in a flat.
The comedy is an extraordinary visual feast from the director of THE MIGHTY BOOSH, featuring the crème-de-la- crème of British comedy talent, including Noel Fielding, Julian Barrett and Richard Ayoade, BUNNY AND THE BULL follows Stephen (Ed Hogg), a heartbroken recluse who finds his mind hurtling back to a disastrous treck around Europe he took with his best friend, Bunny (Simon Farnaby), a dissolute gambling addict, as they embark on an extraordinary odyssey where his imagination is the only limit. They are journeying from the industrial wastelands of Silesia to the ball fields of Andalusia, their adventures bring them into contact with Hungarian dog enthusiast (Julian Barratt), a moustachioed matador (Noel Fielding) and a hot-tempered crab waitress (Veronica Echegui) who soon tests how far their friendship really goes. It looks like what many of you may have heard ie like travel stories from any youth nearby that is thirsty to discover our western culture and its most unexpected attractions... the (structure of the) story let us think that these 2 young people may well be not far from those tales and stories that went through time and generations, ... as the 2 'heroes' are starting a trip towards Life, towards finding themselves, towards finding happiness...( but not without all the encounters and obstacles and 'dragons' (suspens) you may expect on the road, even if those 'dragons' may be their own weaknesses or whatever it could be , such as lack of trust in each other, lack of perseverance, need for courage, lack of perseverance in their pursuit for genuine happiness... etc...)... the thing is how and will they go through?
