Forget-me-not 34 [MM]

THIRTY FOUR

I sat in my car, actually it wasn't mine but my mother's driving down main road 78 just like my brother had ordered me to.
At first I had thought his phone call had been a stupid prank, but I knew Ethan, he wouldn't joke about such serious things especially after he really seemed to have a thing for Sharon.
Though I hadn't got to know Sharon yet I liked her already, simply because my brother did and I didn't want any harm to come to her. I sped up in order to reach my aim faster.
I constantly checked on my cell if Ethan had called or wrote me a message, but nothing.
A part of me still was hoping that all had been a joke and the other part actually prayed that the first one was right because I had like no idea what to do if Sharon really had gotten kidnapped. It's not like something you learn in school. When your brother's soon-to-be-girlfriend gets kidnapped first make sure it's not a prank, second if it turns out to be a prank punish your brother in some sort of way, but if it's true, tell your brother not to act like a hero and third would be to call the police.
You wouldn't learn something like that in school. Maybe out of movies, but definitely not in school. Well, maybe you did just not in that obvious way. It was now that I noticed I was babbling. Obviously, my mind tried to distract me of what to come.
I was really relieved when I finally saw my brother's car parked at one side of the road. I slowed down and parked my car right behind his.
I looked around but there was no sign of my brother. I didn't dare to shout his name afraid to attract anybody's attention. I took out my cell, dialed Ethan's number and prayed that he would pick up. But all I got was "Hey, this is Ethan's cell, leave a message after the piep..." Mailbox. That was just awesome.
Somehow the whole thing reminded me of a horror movie, none in particularly but just a horror movie.
I gulped. Thinking about horror movies I've seen didn't really help right now.
I decided to go around the house once maybe I then would find my brother.
When I was at the back of the house, more a shed actually, I heard a whisper coming from a bush.
I turned around to find Ethan hiding in a bush observing a window. I quickly got down next to him.
"What are you doing?" I asked him. "Looking for a way to get in" He stated. "I think there are just two ways to get in. The front door and this window"
I remembered the plan I made in the car and as step one was perfectly clear I would continue with two and three.
