@thorntongifts As individuals, there truly is a lot we can do. You're right that the government has the most power and their lies are destroying so much environment... but people are to blame as well for making uneducated decisions when buying things. Plastic is one of the most destructive problems we face right now - just look at the 5 floating gyres in our oceans. Using less plastic is a massive step in the right direction. No bags, no bottles, no styrofoam... Thanks Laird Hamilton!!!

Thank you Laird and thank you Surfrider! It seems so clear to me that off shore drilling and oil in general are not the answer. We as consumers have to take responsibility and do whatever we can to move away from this industry by using less oil and demanding alternatives.
There is much we can do to help. Hybrid cars, public transportation, using less plastic, etc.
I pray we start respecting our planet.

I am not attacking your 'theory', just saying there are better ways to make changes than telling everybody they are wrong. Surfrider are the good guys, they have made more positive changes on this planet than you can dream of. And you want to tell them they are doing something wrong? what are you doing that is so right?
Please enlighten us.
