AT LAST......I've managed to crack the Enigma Code...........and load in 16:9 mode( Got the makings of a song here) This was the first of the trips, and started of rather well, then turned dull, then was excellent to finish. This was Matt's idea, probably because Matt's mate Matt lives at Puerto Calero. So, a hideous 3am wake up, and journey to the Airport in the pissing rain. All the rigmarole with Matt's Kayak in the airport, and the other side, with the hire car, led to a quite gruelling day. The day after, we met with Matt, and opted for this trip from Puerto Calero. We didn't have much choice at the time, because the wind was really quite strong, and usually always is. The plan was, I hire a kayak from the outfit in Calero, and Lucy was to use my Advanced Elements inflatable kayak, which is rather good. Lucy was under the weather, and kayak man was all at sea, so, with the day rapidly diminishing, I went in the inflatable. The journey outward was not the best for Me, as I had not fully inflated the boat!!! First stop was the lovely little village of Playa Quemada, by the sea, where I was expecting Clint Eastwood to appear on a Mule, resplendant in his trademark Poncho, and hat....It's a lovely picturesque place, set amongst a backdrop of desolate volcanic hills. We opted to stop at Play de la Arena, about half a mile further on, where we encountered our first nudist. The place is full of them, just strip off, let it all hang out, and Bob's yer Uncle, Fanny's yer Aunt.........We had a few refreshments here, then the wind suddenly tripled in strength, threatening to turn the boats over, so we hastily headed back, and the wind promptly died off.......strange. Whilst there, I put more air in my boat, and it was much better, and the journey back was really good, the views to Fuertaventura, and the Island of Los Lobos in between, were excellent. By the time we got back, we had a bit of spare time, because of our hasty retreat, so we explored the Marina, and saw how the other half live. The price of these big boats is only one part of it, there are the running costs (Fuel consumption is gallons per mile) maintenance, crew, Insurance, and berthing fees, and you have one very expensive hobby. The Marina was beautifully clean, unlike most, and with the evening light, was a quite special experience, ending the day overlooking Fuertaventura, just beyond Punta Gorda.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PREFER WIDESCREEN MODE TO THE STANDARD 4:3 MODE..
