After 33 years of service to the city of Toledo and its police department, Chief Michael Navarre said he will retire, a city official said late Wednesday evening.
Chief Navarre's last day as police chief will be Oct. 21. He has been Glass City's police chief for the past 13 years.
Deputy Police Chief Derrick Diggs will succeed Navarre as police chief, city spokeswoman Jen Sorgenfrei said.
