I wish there were videos of Tanya doing all of the movements of the bach suites. I'd like to hear her suite II prelude and several other movements besides.

IS that a Bass bow?

This is probably the best interpretation of this song I've yet heard. Fantastic performance :D

@magicalhats15 i have to say it does apear to be a Baroque cello, they typically tend to be smaller as to fit closer to the cellist. The lack End Spike is also a give away as typically its modern cellos that get fitted with endspikes and now a days many of those who do play with old Strads and the like get them fitted with endspikes.

Is the cello baroque too, or just the bow? Or I think I should rather ask, is there a difference between modern and baroque cellos other than the strings, and lack of endpin?

Beautiful warm sound and superb performance control! Captivating intensity that keeps you wanting more. Thank you for sharing!

@bbmc92 lol I knew that.
re: bow hold
was that exactly how it was held. I mean exactly? or could it have been held an inch or two along the stick either way? Doe this mean that 3 -4 inches of bow was never used? What about rosin in those days? Was it like todays? And what about the hair? was it horse hair? etc etc etc. please reply
whatever thank you for such sublime playing beautiful

Many different bow grips were in use at the time, as well as many different types of bows. The hair, which is horse hair, is very similar, but less was used. The rosin is similar to modern rosin but many players use rosin that is based on older style of manufacture.
