I looped this killer track to make an extended version of the closing theme music for Sesame Street — back in the 70s and 80s with the funky chimes. This is also basically the same loop MF DOOM used for "Kookies."

This is the funkiest closing theme of all time. Why they would ever change it to anything is beyond me. How could it be any better?

@Clothosx Michael Davis' excellent book "Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street", details Northern Calloway's struggles with his mental health. Very talented guy. Unfortunately, mental health issues are diffucult to diagnose/treat. Even more so at that time. Great contributor to SS.

@bloggaloggs, @shydmples ... Not that it really matters, but is this something you guys have personal knowledge about? Only sources I've found is that he did, indeed, die in a psychiatric unit. Those sources could also be wrong, of course - but at least they have a New York Times article to back them up ... Google Northern Calloway.

Should've kept this end theme. I looked at other ending themes and they don't hold a candle to this. I hope other generations of kids can enjoy what I did from back in the day
