Aquaglide 5 NEW video

«Aquaglide-5» accelerates speed up to 170 km/hour in cruise mode. No other type of high-speed passenger vessels is capable to compete with WIG-craft in this parameter. Transition to flight mode occurs at speed of 90 km/hour approximately. Such a speed is reached within 40-50 sec. while movement over the water and a little bit faster above snow or ice surface. Even at movement in displacement mode at speed up to 90 km/hour «Aquaglide-5» has obvious superiority against conventional passenger vessels due to better acceleration capability and maneuverability.
Efficiency of «Aquaglide-5» can be estimated by three basic criteria: achievement of qualitatively new level of transport services granting in regions with the developed transport network; an opportunity for creation of transport networks in areas and geographical zones where application of conventional vehicles is impossible or ineffective; commercial advantage. Low operational costs reached owing to minimum crew and maintenance staff, simple maintenance, applied hull and wings material (which does not demand special maintenance and does not corrode), absence of special demands for operation and maintenance infrastructure ensures high profitability of transport services. The WIG-craft brings the highest commercial advantage at passenger transportations on distances of 30 and more km.
Comfortable interior of «Aquaglide-5» is equipped by passenger aircraft-type seats. Convenient allocation, practically all-around view due to the huge glazing area, comfortable entrance and exit through side doors make a trip on «Aquaglide-5» pleasant and unfatiguing. The additional factor improving comfort of passengers is the specific design of WIG-craft providing automatically balance of longitudinal and cross-section stability while maneuvers performance at high speed. On conclusion if you have money for a trip you can visit the demonstration area to test it in action. The test models (60 cm long) is a child toy and a lot of experience in research and development wanted (and money) to commercialize a WIG craft.

Because it has a low passenger capacity but it is can use as private craft or sea taxi in many areas like Bahamas in the past. If this craft was a crap why this craft has sales instead of others? If you want to overcome a typhoon then you can choose a bigger Ekranoplan (400 seats).

As you see from photos the craft has a usage on different surface environment, the size of the craft and the wing geometry is crucial for the performance. Anyway you dont see the craft max. wave operation limits, try to find out in the video and maybe you learn something more on WIG craft technology (1.25 m at 90 km/h). The craft is based on Alekseevs last civilian Ekranoplan model the Volga 2. Is crap too? The Aquaglide-5 basically is a demonstration craft on WIG craft technology.

You must learn a lot about GE vehicles; this GE craft is in production since 1998. You must know that the first Aquaglide 5 has put in operation is US with 11 crafts. Another thought as low the GE craft flaring then has more efficient is (low fuel consumption), for that reason they called ground effect. This crap is certified by registering authorities and IMO. Probably you dont see the bigger models.
