The Loveletter worm caused over 5.5 billion dollars in cleanup efforts and data destruction when it was released in May of 2000. It overwries several different types of files, including mp3 and vbs files with its own code. It also mass mails itself to your contacts and drops several files to the Windows and Windows System directory.
