its a gpu problem, i cut out a small piece of aluminium shim and placed it ontop of the RSX gpu, everythings fine now. You need something to apply pressure on the gpu since the solder joints have probably broken.

hey miines freezes like yours right now im calling sony they got me on hold but my tv has all kinds of colorful lines in the tv when the ps3 freezes then it takes for ever to turn off

i was playin bops just now and mine froze i was like shiit but i think my ps3 had been on for like 18 hours or somethin so idk if it happens again ill send it back to sonny o by the was wen u sent urs back did u have to pay anything for them to fix it ive had mine for about april somethin so not tht long

@Videogamearcade nope, I had to send it back to Sony. If you ever have to send yours back, know that you won't get your PS3 back. They sent me some beat up refurbished one that was in terrible condition. It worked though...but they didn't transfer any of my data over so I lost everything.
