After months of speculation plus anticipation Bachmann has delivered its highly detailed outside frame K- 27 Mikado. As we will see in this review Bachmann Industries pulled out all the stops in designing, producing and bringing to market this outstanding locomotive. The anticipation has been well worth the wait. Engineering innovation found in the K-27 has once again raised the bar for all large scale narrow gauge locomotives. (Use code K27 for $10 subscription discount - LSOL.com)

Why can't they make a G scale diesel locomotive this highly detailed and of metal? I love to see a GE ES44AC with tons and tons of super realistic detailing.

@yuri5677 No, because the two outer rails are one polarity and the middle is the opposite polarity. This allows loop backs without insulated track connectors or special circuit modification. You can put a regular engine on a lionel track for display without hurting it, but its not going anywhere.

I wish the models weren't capable of going a scale 200 MPH. I invite any of you to run the real 463 or 464 and try and go 40 MPH with one; you'd be scared to death.
