Yup, this guy is right.
you need to have shares of both inductive and deductive reasoning (this is the world of logic, took a course on logic) to have the best of fluency and academia. I learned this from my experience in learning other langauges and taking classes.
-Linguistics minor.

Interesting video. In my view, the best appoach is mostly using inductive approach (like kids), and then you can "tune" the language with some deductive approach (grammar and so on).

I'm trying to better my french, which I have taken in school, but it's mostly only been deductive learning. I am also attempting spanish, which I am even worse at, however, I do understand it a bit better than I can speak it. There are a few other languages I would like to learn also, including italian, german, and maybe dutch.
But it is sometimes difficult for me to practice since I don't have many people to practice with. I also get blocks when I do practice, since I don't know enough.
Is English your mother tongue?

Thanks for sharing. I agree with you: it's intersting to learn a new language but it could be hard, sometimes. I'm here trying to emprove my english and after so many years at school on books, I find on Youtube my opportunity: INDUCTIVE learning...with your videos too! =)
