Our pointless assemblies

This is pretty much what we did for 2 hours out of every 2 months.

Hey, this assembly look decent....the whole point of it, is to promote school activities/talents right? Well I attend north high as senior at this moment and I can tell you that we have one of the best assemblies in the state; Not only the best assemblies but the best student government.

I can't comment on what goes on there now, but during my last year at North the assemblies were effective in promoting diddly squat. If the rigged student elections weren't enough, we had a step team that made Matt Harding look like Patrick Swayze and a particularly memorable elimination game that involved tying a ball attached to a string around your waist and swinging it into other peoples' genitals. Yeah, nothing like a little sexual innuendo to get my school spirit a-pumpin.

Granted, a healthy cocktail of benzodiazepines made attending one of these really worth it, but once the buzz wore off I felt my time would have been better spent studying Renaissance humanism.
