Hello friends, a song that is personal and real. Not all of it applies, however. Songwriting is what it is to the writer. To me, the songs tell stories of my life and the lives that have touched me in some way. Take from it what you will and if you all could, pleases leave me a comment or two. YouTube really is an awesome thing. The ability to share my thoughts with so many wonderful people is truly a blessing. Thank you all.

Goodbye to Goodbye

He's just a young man, no longer an older man
Not wanting to die or say goodbye
Goodbye to goodbye, so long. Goodbye to goodbye so long.

He puts on his boots again, he tightens his bolo tie
Steps out for the weekend not ready to say goodbye
He's chosen to walk down that rocky road
Not the choice that he should have chose
He had him a drink again

He sees the ladies about, he offers one his hand
Shows off his best two step has himself another sip
Goodbye to goodbye, so long. Goodbye to goodbye, so long

The nights are long, he just can't last
He's falling hard, he's spills his glass
With his back up against the wall
He's only standing until last call
Goodbye to goodbye, so long. Goodbye to goodbye, so long.

He's just an old man, no longer a younger man
Not wanting to die or say goodbye
Goodbye to goodbye, so long. Goodbye to goodbye, so long.

  • Other than clipping a few times on the higher vocal notes, this is some of the best recording I've heard from you, Pat. The guitars are clean and clear and you voice is pristine.

  • @Oswlek You make me smile with your analysis Justin. I have noticed you have looked at a few of my videos. Thank you for the comments my friend. You are respected in the community and therefore I am humbled.

  • Thanks for showing the chord progression! I've been playing along with the song, and I keep coming back to it. I think it's perpetually stuck in my head.

  • @BloodTrucksandBeer I think you're stuck in me head.....I so dig the way you sound, your vocal ability with the guitar....damn inspiring.....

  • The kind of songs I'd like to listen to (and, possibly, to write, too, lol) . Beautiful. Paul.

  • Thanks Patrick, you must have an artesian well of music trying to get out, each one sweet, cool, and pure. Your music hits hard to the heart, each video individual and well done, and the recording and mixing always first class. I love this song.
