There are so few videos showing men's hairstyles, so I decided to do one.
My nephew loves his natural hair (almost as much as his Auntie does) and asked me to do twists so he wouldn't have to be playing too much in it because he is busy with studying.
The extension hair protects his hair and lets him have a little more length.
As the style "ages" it looks more and more like locs (he is cool with that)

  • Excuse me ma'am but your nephew is FINE

  • @sawa139 :) I'll pass on the compliment.

  • Thanks for the advice! Will start practicing - $500 is too much for havanna twists at you (probably) know where in NYC... lol

  • @aliba15 Say what?!? That salon charges $500 to put in giant synthetic twists? That style doesn't even look like it would take long to do though it looks like they twist right from the root so you would need to do that if you wanted that exact look (there are videos on how to do that, too, but I find it unravels faster that way so I always braid the roots).

  • Your nephew is very handsome! This style looked great on him!

  • @cat3375 Thanks, for watching and commenting. :D

  • @TheSupasweet Yup, $500... if you go to fusionofcultures' blog, you'll see which style/salon I'm talking about. I thought about adding in some twists for the winter, but I'll just wear a hat. lol Have a nice holiday!

  • @aliba15 The tricky part is getting the extension hair tight down at the root (I braid the first inch or so). Just practice a few times and start at the back/bottom (so that as you get better the nicer twists cover up the messier ones)

There are a good few tutorials on the subject, gotta love youtube for that.

Another word of advice- the hair that he bought was toyokalon and I found it rather hard, kanekalon is softer and yarn is softest. Good luck!

  • This was beautiful! I would love to be able to install my own twists. I will have to start taking notes from you and other youtubers on how to do this!

  • @DejaVu807 Don't feel bad, as long as your man doesn't see the comment, it's all good!
