From Atheism to Belief: A Journey to Islam in North America. This was the topic of a lecture delivered by Dr. Jeffrey Lang at McGill University on October 27, 2007.

Dr. Jeffrey Lang was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1954. He grew up in a Roman Catholic family but became atheist by the time he was 18. In the early 80s, however, he converted to Islam and since then, he has been an active and influential voice in Islamic Circles throughout America.

  • Its nice to have a person who portrays his religious identity through his personality as apposed to his looks (e.g. beard). We need more rational Muslims like Dr. Lang. People should be able to identify their muslim neighbors not by the way their dress, but by their friendly and generous characteristics.

  • I pray to God that all humans will "get it" like this man has got it, but all humans aren't as smart as this man. Even I am not as smart but I thank God he (Allah) showed me to Islam. Allah Akbar.

  • I loved this man! I'm a muslim arab , but he inspired me into understanding things deeply and investigating the Quran even more and more. He made me know how powerful and profound Quran is. He made me thankful for being muslim and believing in Allah. I think I love Allah now more than ever!!! Than u Dr. Jeffrey

  • poor audio quality please upload the good quality one thanks

  • I love when ignorant Muslims play the wise men. The hadiths are fabricated. The Quran is the word of God and the word of Mohammed pbuh because it was conveyed through him. The sunnah is only to follow the Quran.

  • wow, this lecture will see not just out kids, but even there kids,

it will be even here 200 and more years from now

and the message will be the same!=)

    WHAT AA GREAT FEELIN'!!

  • @faresalem ..i Think what you are trying to say is good..but please don't.. try to by any way , form or shape.. deny a Sunnah..keeping beard is Sunnah of our beloved RasooluLLah...

  • @faresalem callin yourself wise ..and me UN because i don't agree with you ..

    that's wise .. lol

  • @faresalem lol... when the prophet say do something .... it's DO it.. it's not up to you ..to play with it.. anyways.. fine ..i can't force you and you know that very well.. :)you're welcome ..and i thank you too..

  • @bravo45 Why would his words mean any less to you only because he had a beard?? There lies the problem in my opinion and that is where I am trying to point you to.

  • @faresalem And right there my brother lies the problem. Those you hate, the ones who emphasis looks of a specific culture may be just as wrong as you claim, but then you too are a part of them by being the one to whom to matters. Like I said, I think you would have a problem with this guy if he was saying exactly the same thing but had a different look. I say why should it matter?? It shouldn't matter and thus shouldn't even be commented on.
