KLM is a great airline. My flight from JFK to Amsterdam was three hours late, and the airline provided food, really substantive food, not snacks to the waiting passengers, additional fee I paid to sit in upper economy was refunded to me by the airline, and the pilot completed a flight that normally takes 7 hours and 45 minutes in 6 hours. My hats off to the professional staff on the ground and in the air of this amazing airline.

I'm pretty sure KLM still exists, their "merger" with AirFrance didn't mean the end of KLM. It meant that their partners, think of it as best friends. KLM is still flying under THEIR name, THEIR website, THEIR livery, and THEIR administration. It's not like Northwest and Delta where the planes were painted in Delta colors, their name was fazed out and took on Delta's, and had to give up their website. KLM is it's own airline with partnerships in the SkyTeam alliance, but even stronger with AF.
