Or how about Jim Ryun? 3:55.3 to beat the reigning olympic champion in HS. Fernandez was also a better HSer than Ritz or Hall.

I was here! I am seating with my team right by the white post by the finish line!!! Go south El Monte High School X country team!!! dude Ryan Hall, Webb and Dathan Ritz are the 3 best high school runners ever in history including Prefontaine and perhaps kennedy. I wish Ritz would have run the 2 mile race in this invitational and run for sure under 8:40Also, I would have been awesome that Webb, Ritz and hall would have run together at the Mount Sact Inv. X Country Invitational. Ritz under 14:00?
