I can never get tired of watching Donnie Darko. Just for the fun of it, I like to wonder if there was once a boy in my life who might have been my love interest, brother, or neighbour, who destroyed himself merely to create a safer place for those around him. And that none of us would have any recollection of him or whatsoever.

@yaoifan1234 I thought that too but, the way they show him waking up crying I think he is supposed to be changed now. All the events Donnie influenced, even though just an alternate timeline now, are hitting all involved parties like a very real dream, changing them as if it was real. Well that's my interpretation and I'm sure its been interpreted differently.

I think it’s a film about invisibility. That they might never have met. And some part of people can’t bear that. They feel the limitations of time so strongly, some tragic extraction of all that might have been. I called a early 90s CD of my songs “Halesowen Taxis with flashy rooves”. Being Michael Owen. Then I noticed it said Halesowen atop of saltcellars in chip shops. And wrote to the NME about it. Like she writes ‘cellar door’ on the blackboard. The man upstairs resembles Donnie Darko.
