@22akinf I just tell how I see it homie

@Pigroota What are you on about now? You know nothing about me or my life, which is far from indulgent. What is with the massive ego trip of feeling you have the right or knowledge to enlighten people, its youtube! When I want enlightenment I pick up a book or go see a scholar. I have no idea why you have such a problem with someone making a simple statement and taking it at face value as intended. Next time ask for further explanation rather accusing people of naivety, or is that too humble
-
@22akinf That's ok man. I don't expect the indulgent to lift themselves out of micro-critique and worry about the bigger picture. Such is the nature of reification, but you've actually proven my point, so thank you. I was just trying for the sake of it to enlighten you a little bit
-
@Pigroota I have no idea what point you are trying to make here at all, and I really don't care to be honest. Your just waffling on about theoretical, philosophical jargon that isn't relevant to anything I'm trying to say and have completely missed the point of my comment. Basically, these people are doing bad things and should have better judgement than to rely on 'religion' and 'social norms' to justify child abuse. Its not intended to be a complex thesis.
-
@22akinf I am saying that the most immoral people are not the ones who overtly commit such acts, but the ones who conceal themselves - the ones who are pulling the strings. It's easy to write an essay on existing conditions. Just look at the objective layer of structures in play. This is realism. It's much harder to go deeper and critically analyse latent structures that are socially constructed. When you critique from within the system, you can only support that system. Hence - naivety
-
@Pigroota Are u honestly suggesting that a parent who allows nails to be driven into the head of their own child should not have their morality questioned, and that it is naive to do so? Are u saying that the preachers that lead these parents to believe in this nonsense are not committing evil acts in order to make a quick buck? I could write an essay on other factors to be considered from lack of proper infrastructure and education that underpin this damaging belief, but these actions are evil
-
@Pigroota What do expect I have a paragraph to express myself. I'm not sure why my comment appears more naive to you than anybody elses'. Its not about whether or not you are a developed nation, I specifically said that it wasn't about 'westernizing', its about how damaging religious belief is in manipulating ignorant people and obscuring their moral compass.
-
@22akinf That sounds a bit naive. I mean, I agree with your point about catching the f*ck up, but people of some of the most developed nations in the world need to wake the f*ck up. There are ways to subsume empathy or make it seem as if it is not needed. The current system we live in does the latter - a reified status quo where we have a firm belief that TINA. So I put it to you that the most evil is not the preacher looking in the mirror, but the one hiding behind it
-
There are some parts of the world that need to catch the f*ck up, seriously. I don't mean westernize, I mean become thinking, empathetic human beings instead of ignorant sheep. If the people that preach and do these things wanna see true evil then all they need to do is look in the mirror. The sooner we consign religion to the pages of history the better for everybody.

@77Pioter The practices employed by the lady leading this movement are completely heretical; however, Jesus cast out demons and Paul cast familiar spirits out of witches. Baalam himself was a prophet of Baal, a witch. The signs Jesus said would follow believers were not only confined to tongues and healings, but also exorcisms. The difference is that this lady neglects the Biblical method of exorcism in favor of a native, superstitious form of exorcism which differs little from torture.
hi sweetjoko, thats absolutly fine! thanks.
